Homework is a necessary and integral part of the total education
process.
The habit of homework is to be initiated early in the student's
school experience. We define homework as teacher assignments which are
specified to be completed outside the school day. Review for tests and special projects
such as fairs are not defined as homework. We require teachers to assign homework to students
regularly.

1. Kindergarten and first
grade - Suggested homework of fifteen minutes daily.
|
|
2. Second and third grade -
Suggested homework of thirty minutes daily.
|
|
3. Fourth and fifth grade -
Suggested homework of sixty minutes daily.

At the end of each class, we give students at least fifteen
minutes to practice what has been presented during the class period. This is to assure that each student
has a clear understanding of the work presented. During that fifteen minutes, most
students will complete the work assigned if they begin immediately and
do not waste time. Any work not
completed during this time becomes homework.

Homework can be picked up for an absent student at 3:45 pm in
the student's classroom. This to assure that the parents can obtain all
books and other materials at this time.

Failure to complete homework will result in a grade of Zero.
Parents will be contacted and students will still do the work
assigned.
