The Natural Lifeways™ Corporation:
"Developing ecological alternatives: today and tomorrow"
The Natural Lifeways Mission
Natural Lifeways Corporation is focused on developing commonwealth economies, ecological communities, and more natural lifestyle alternatives for individuals and organizations in the central Appalachian area and around the Earth.
Natural Lifeways Corporation Goals
Natural Lifeways Corporation was organized in 1998 to comprehensively educate, feed, clothe, shelter, energize, transport and provide network support for all people interested in developing closer interactions with naturally occurring ecosystems.
Objectives 2003
Natural Lifeways Corporation is organized in 2003 to:
|
Research, develop, demonstrate, practice and sustain ecological resource management through our for-profit ecology divisions and programs. Objectives and activities for each division are described below. |
Unify ecological organizations and individuals through our non-profit United Natural West Virginia program,We aim to develop mutually beneficial networks between environmental organizations and their members. Current programs are listed at the United Natural West Virginia Pages. |
Share information about ecological ways for organizations and individuals to behave through our non-profit Community Education division and WV Eco-tours program. We offer year-round, continuous education programming indoors and outdoors. Current schedules are posted at the ( community education) pages. |
We attempt to accomplish our objectives by developing educational and economic activities around facilities called Natural Lifeways Centers. Programs and projects take place in divisions of ecological functions. We coordinate our educational activities with several other divisions that demonstrate, practice and sustain essential aspects of life on Earth. These include:
1.
Eco-Foods-Fibers- Waters Division: Work with us to produce, preserve, package, distribute, sell, and re-process foods, fibers and waters from ecological, organic, and sustainable cultural operations.|

Shelters: Division: Work with us to build, repair, recycle, and share shelters using natural materials using natural and re-used materials from production operations in the Eco-Fibers and Eco-Exchange divisions.4. ECO-
Energy and Mobility Methods Division: Work with us to develop, manufacture, operate, distribute, and sell chemical, mechanical and electrical energy forms derived from sustainable resources. Then, cooperate with us to mobilize people and materials using low impact methods that build and maintain human and electrical-powered vehicles within landscape-integrated travel corridors.5. ECO-Exchanges Division: First, we seek to develop investment opportunities and to provide savings options through established banks, credit unions and registered investment firms that follow environmental and social choice criteria. www.paxworld.com provides examples of these criteria.
We also seek to provide internship opportunities for students of ecology and employment for applied ecologists.
Finally, we try to close the loop of energy and material use inside and outside corporate operations. The Eco-exchange division operates within all other divisions of the corporation to identify ways in which materials and energy can be appropriately moved from one area to another. This division also operates material exchange stations and material transformation centers at Natural Lifeways Centers. This enables ecological associates to move materials and excess energy from their own operations through the corporate networks to alternative users.
While operating our for-profit divisions, we invest a portion of our revenues in non-profit programs:
I. In our WV Community Education Division, we share information and educate people about ecology while providing positive recreational experiences in natural settings.
Indoors, we conduct sustainable community development workshops and training seminars on alternative energy, electric cars, organic cultural practices, natural fiber crafts, and many other ecological topics. To support educational activities, the community education division sells environmental information products that include books, videotapes, CD's, and ecology study guides. To support personal ecology, we also produce, store, distribute and sell personal ecology products and services.
Outdoors, our ecological employees and associates design and lead WV Eco-tours (ecology studies) around forests, fields, streams, and lakes in the central Appalachia region of North America.
II. We work to improve organizations using ecology principles. United Natural West Virginia is our non-profit program. Our staff and network of professional associates work with client organizations We specialize in performing 5 major organizational strategies:
