Ecological food production

Natural Lifeways Corporation offers education in the arts and sciences of ecological food production. This means producing, storing and serving foods within ecosystems that are modified for mutually beneficial food, fiber and water production with preservation and conservation of resources. Training and on-site consulting is available at negotiated rates that we think are reasonable. Our initial visit is not billed to clients. Contact Dr. John Williams at 304-269-7902 to discuss your educational needs and proposed projects.

Books and educational media products

Soil management:

Natural Lifeways Inc. (order at natseas@citynet.net or 304-269-7902) supports its ecological growing program with several useful soil references. Simple, to the point, and well illustrated, Soil Science Simplified by Harpstead, Hole and Bennett, educates the reader on ways to manage soils for the long haul. (Hard cover book, $23.95) The book only contains a brief mention of organic soil culture, so a more focused view is found in Rodales’ All-New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening. The encyclopedia also covers other alternative growing techniques (fertilizers, pest controls, etc.). (Paperback book: $19.95).

Gardening and Farming:
