June 1: Water and Woods II: We’ll re-visit a forest in bloom and the Middle Fork River bottom at Audra State Park. Fees: $6.00: no lunch or $14.00 with lunch provided.

 

 

June 8: Full Bloom Ecology I: Walk with us through forest and field habitats at Holly River State Park to see the world in its full bloom state. Fees: $7.00: no lunch or $15.00 with lunch provided.

 

 

June 14: Time: 9 am-5 p.m. Eco-tourism business development workshop: Agricultural tourism. Creekside Retreat: Greenville, WV.

 

 

June 15: Full Bloom Ecology II: Walk with us through forest and field habitats at Burnsville Lake wildlife area to see the world in its full bloom state. Fees: $6.00: no lunch or $14.00 with lunch provided

 

 

June 22: River Roots: Wade into the Greenbrier river at Watoga State Park to study aquatic plants and animals along the banks and in the water. No fees: Part of the NLC/ United Natural West Virginia quarterly meeting.

 July 17-18 and again on July 19-20: Herb Garden (six) & Bed and Breakfast (four) Tours in central WV: Start at Weston or Shinnston, WV. Call Natural Seasons B&B at 304-269-7902 for reservations. Fees: $175 per B&B room, includes, 2 nights lodging, breakfast meals and 2 days of garden tours.

 

 

 July 20: Shady places, shaded faces; a study of life among the rocky overhangs and shelters of an upland forest. Otter Creek wilderness area near Elkins. Fees: $8.00: no lunch or $16.00 with lunch provided.

 August 3: Don’t Bug Me Study: Inspect the large variety of insects and habitats around fields and forest areas. Burnsville Lake WMA, Burnsville, WV. Fees: $6.00: no lunch or $14.00 with lunch provided.

 

 

 August 10: River Ecology Study: Inspect the West Fork (Monongahela) River at low flow to learn how a river works to support Life. Jackson's Mill area, Weston, WV. Free.

 

 

 August 17: Highland Breezes Study: Join an excursion to Dolly Sods in Tucker County to revel in the high mountain air and natural splendor of the Sods area. Fees: $8.00: no lunch or $16.00 with lunch provided.

 

 

 August 24: What’s in the Water? Study: Learn to find and observe aquatic organisms in the Cheat river while keeping cool in the ‘dog days’. We will also slip into the shade of the nearby forest to seek out fungus friends among the decaying humus on the floor. Stuart Recreation Area, Monongahela National Forest near Elkins, WV.
