WV Eco-tours cost $10.00 per person, including transportation, materials and lunch. Children under 12 are free. We may cancel any tour at our discretion. Refunds are available with 24 hours notice.

April 5: Early Bloomers: We'll visit some ponds, a forest, and a river floodplain in bloom at the Elk River Wildlife Management Area.

April 12: Bug Me in Bloom: The wild environs of Holly River State Park will serve to enlighten our exploration of spring emerging insects and the plants that many depend on for sweetness.

April 19: Birds and Bowers I: The fields and forests of the Burnsville Lake Wildlife Area beckon us to listen to the calls of "lovebirds" making their homes in the bushes and trees.

April 26: Earth Gardens: An Earth Day celebration: Join the Natural Lifeways staff on a tour of area gardens in central WV that were established using guidance from the natural world.

Featured in our area: Birds nest, insects and snakes emerge, spring flowers peak, many trees flower, and much more...

May 3: Water and Woods I: We'll visit a forest, and a river floodplain in bloom at Audra State Park.

May 10: Gradients in the Forest: We'll hike a transect from hilltop to floodplain at Valley Falls State Park to observe and record the effects of soil, moisture and light changes on plants.

May 17: Birds and Bowers II: The fields and forests of the Elk River Wildlife Area beckon us to listen to the calls of birds raising young in the bushes and trees.

May 24: Memorials to Flowers: Pay tribute to loved ones and loved things of the natural world on a foray into the woodlands of Burnsville Lake wildlife area.

May 31: River Roots 1: Wade in the West Fork river near Weston and the Stonewall Jackson State Park to study aquatic plants and animals along the banks and in the water.

June

Featured in our area: June-berries develop, forest canopies close, insects, flowers, birds, foliage abound and much, much more..

June 7: Water and Woods II: We'll re-visit a forest in bloom and a river bottom at Audra State Park.

June 14: Full Bloom Ecology I: Walk with us through forest and field habitats at Holly River State Park to see the world in its full bloom state.

June 21: River Roots 2: Wade into the Tygart Valley river near Tygart State Park to study aquatic plants and animals along the banks and in the water. Part of the Summer solstice: United Natural West Virginia quarterly meeting.

June 28: Full Bloom Ecology II: Walk with us through forest and field habitats at Burnsville Lake wildlife area to see the world in its full bloom state.
