BIENVENIDOS "WELCOME" to Debbie VanBrunt's Web Page. Ms. VanBrunt is a Spanish teacher at Elkins High School. She teaches Spanish I and Spanish II. She was born in Elkins and studied at EHS. After high school, she attended Davis & Elkins College and also studied at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.
During her teaching career, she taught fourteen years at Philip Barbour High School in Phillipi, WV. Her experience at EHS has been very interesting and she has learned much from her students. She wanted to teach foreign languages because she liked the languages and the teachers that taught her. They were from Cuba!.
Also, she can speak French (she loves it) and can work in a library. She has worked with students in the Upward Bound program at times through Davis & Elkins College. In her free time, she likes to read and work in her garden with her vegetables and flowers. She has a twenty-eight year old daughter. She says that students should study a foreign language so they can "communicate with other people and learn about other cultures."
