Mrs. Rhudy has been teaching art at Elkins High School since 1998. She was born in Cracow, Poland, to German parents, and lived in Berlin, Germany, until she emigrated to the United States of America. in 1967. Since then she has lived in New Mexico, Ohio, and since 1984, in West Virginia.
Mrs. Rhudy learned English in high school in Germany and was a banker before she studied in the United States. She has a Bachelors Degree in Art from the School of Design of the University of Toledo, Ohio, and a Masters Degree in German, also from The University of Toledo. Art and foreign cultures are her passion and she has taught art and German to students of all ages. Mrs. Rhudy believes that: "Art and foreign languages open windows to the world! Sharing my knowledge about our culture and the cultures of other countries expressed in their spoken and visual language is my gift to my students."
Mrs. Rhudy and her husband Ed love to travel and explore different areas and cultures of the world. In her spare time she loves to explore new art techniques and crafts to share with her students. Their daughter, Maya, a graduate of Elkins High School (1989), and of Davis and Elkins College, Elkins, WV, lives in Emmerich, Germany, on the Rhein River with her husband and son.
