We will have fun; while we learn; but we won't have fun at the expense of losing sight of the reasons for why we are at camp! All band members are expected to behave with discipline, discretion, honor, responsibility, and compassion for fellow band members! All band and school rules and guidelines will be enforced!

Items To Bring For Camp

Sunscreen and Jacket (for rain or colder weather)
Band Equipment (ie: instrument, music, flag, baton, etc.)
Drills sheets (if you are assigned these)
Your Lunch (each day)

CLOSED CAMP POLICY

The 2000-2001 Elkins High School Band Camp will be July 31 - August 4 at Elkins High School. To ensure the safety our our students and to meet our strict time schedule, Band Camp will be operating under a closed camp atmosphere. We will be trying to simulate the traditional Band Camp at the school. When friends, neighbors, parents, and family come and go, this becomes a distraction to the students and we cannot maximize our efforts, thus the band suffers. Only those parents chaperoning the camp will be permitted in the camp area. Parents wishing to speak to Mr. Caplinger may do so before rehearsal (before 8am) or after rehearsal (5pm). Emergency situations do arise and will obviously be permitted. Please inform Mr. Caplinger upon arrival at the camp in an emergency situation. Students who drive to camp will not be allowed to leave until dismissal (5pm). Students are not permitted to freely roam the hallways of EHS. They must remain in the Music Wing or in the designated outside areas until dismissal (5pm). Questions?? See Mr. Caplinger!
