East Fairmont High School
Media Center
Welcome to the East Fairmont High School Media Center
where students and staff may study, log on to the Internet, or read the
latest magazine.
The Media Center houses over 12,000 books, 65 magazine subscriptions in
print and microform, and 3 newspapers.
The Media Center is automated using the Follett "Unison" system
with an automated circulation system and card catalog. Two CD-ROM units
are also available for student use with appropriate software.
The Internet is accessed through 15 computers in the Media Center. At this
time, over 100 students have received Internet training and have signed
the school Internet policy. The hompage you are now reading comes to you
via the Media Center. These computers are also networked with programs
for Word Processing, French, and Guidance loaded on the file server.
B-TV, the in-house T.V. show, comes to the school from the Media Center.
Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, students from media and public relations
present announcements, current events, interviews, and feature stories.
The Media Staff consists of media specialist Becky
Phillips; media aide JoAnn VanGilder; and volunteers Jane Stalnaker
and June Riffle.
The East Fairmont High School Media Center is a hub of the school where
students and faculty work in pleasant surrounding. Community support is
part of the Media Center's history with the East Fairmont
Foundation funding of computer programs, memorial donations, and gift
books received.

Faculty sponsors: Charles
T. McClain and Becky Phillips.
