Mrs. Erika Backus

Mrs. Erika Backus resides in Ritchie County with her husband Bryan.  Mrs. Backus graduated from Glenville State College in 2003 with a Bachelor degree in English Education.  Before become a full time educator at Doddridge County High School she was a substitute teacher in both our county and Ritchie County.  Mrs. Backus is enjoying her teaching position, as it offers both rewards and challenges everyday.  Most of all, she has enjoyed the positive experiences of learning with the students with whom she teaches.  Mrs. Backus feels the students keep her fresh and young in her views.

Outside of work Mrs. Backus enjoys several outdoor activities, such as Jeep Riding, Kayaking, Camping, Fishing, Reading and taking Nature Walks.  Mrs. Backus is part time owner with her husband in Ritchie County Adventure Outfitters located and operated through North Bend State Park.  She is also greatly involved with her church's youth group "READY".
