Haiku Poetry

Written by Mrs. Chisler's Third Grade Students

Haiku is a form of poetry that does not rhyme. The people of Japan were the first to write this style of poetry. It is usually written about something in nature, like birds, butterflies, etc.

Haiku has three lines and seventeen syllables.

Swinging and singing.
Picking flowers all the time.
Running in the wind.

by Brittany S.

The sun is so hot
That you could cook on the rocks.
Everything sizzles.

by Nathan B.

Wet grass in the yard,
Butterflies are in the air.
Today birds sing.

by Jordan D.
