" I believe that each of
our staff members will care for our students personally, listen to their voices,
respect their concerns, and engage them in meaningful educational experiences
that will prepare them for a promising future." With this philosophy in
mind, Mrs. Carole Crawford recognizes that the years of early adolescence can be
pivotal in a child's life.
Mrs. Crawford is a
graduate of WVU ( Let's Go Mountaineers!) with an undergraduate and Masters
degrees in Elementary Education, along with a Masters degree in
Educational Leadership. She was previously a teacher in Preston County,
before moving to Harrison County in 1986. She resides in Stonewood with
her husband Bill and two sons, Adam, who attends WVU, and Tyler, a student at RCB. In her free time, she enjoys travel, sports (from the sidelines), boating,
and most of all, time with her family.
An interesting bit of
trivia that Mrs. Crawford would like to share is the fact that her
mother-in-law, Enid Crawford, was instrumental in starting the first school
newspaper at BHS "The Shawnee PowWow". She currently, in her 80's, lives
in Fairmont and continues to be a loyal supporter of Bridgeport area schools.
Her brother, Carl Furbee, was the mayor of Bridgeport when the new BMS was
constructed.
