Adamston Elementary School

Pupil Responsibility Is Developed Everywhere

P.R.I.D.E.

Preface

The faculty and staff at Adamston Elementary are dedicated to the belief that all students can learn and succeed through the mastery of academics.  Each child will become a contributing member of society by our nurturing the development of the whole child.

P.R.I.D.E. is a non adversarial, non-negotiable program that teaches students to be responsible for their learning and actions.  We feel that this program will create a school environment that will allow us to fulfill our VISION for the school as well as accomplish our MISSION.

P.R.I.D.E. is made up of three (3) parts:

Part 1 – The first part is a set of STANDARDS or EXPECTATIONS that have been developed and refined by the faculty.  These standards will be presented in both large group presentation and introduced in the classrooms.  They will also be reinforced in the school where appropriate.

Part 2 – This part involves weekly instructional units (10-15 minutes in length) to be presented once a week to all students in grades PreK-5th.

Part 3 – The final part will be activities devised to provide for re-teach opportunities for those students who need reinforcement and to provide incentive rewards for those who have demonstrated mastery.
