Adamston Elementary
Schoolwide Title I Program

      Title I is the nation's largest federal aid program for elementary and secondary schools. It provides money to school districts to pay for extra educational services for children who are behind in school so that they receive help to meet the challenging state standards that have been adopted for all students. Funds can be used to benefit the entire student population by upgrading the entire educational program in the school. These services must be over and above what the students would receive without the program.

Adamston Elementary Title I Program provides:

two additional full-time highly trained teachers

reduced teacher-pupil ratio for specific reteach
       and enrichment lessons

Accelerated Reader Program

workshops for parents in reading, math, writing,
        and strategies for helping children learn

partial funding for the Extended Day Program
       (includes preschool and kindergarten)

staff for a weekly Family Night

additional student materials and supplies

staff development on the local, state, and national
        level for teachers

summer program

parent involvement opportunities

multi-media computers
